(Vegan AF) — You can thank PETA the next time you go to Panera Bread and aren't charged more your non-dairy milk like you have been in the past. After PETA held talks with upper management at Panera, executives made the decision to finally get rid of the dairy-free surcharge for consumers.
“PETA is calling on Starbucks, which is still penalizing people for opting for eco- and animal-friendly vegan milk, to follow Panera’s progressive lead,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman.
It's hopeful that with this change at Panera, that other companies will also decide to scrap their own vegan milk surcharge for consumers who choose a compassionate, dairy-free milk option. Starbucks and Dunkin', you're on notice.
